Issha and I were delighted to receive an email this morning notifying us that we've won a 2017 Applied Arts Award for our work from the Araxi: Roots to Shoots cookbook by Chef James Walt, published by Figure 1. Publishing!  We're still so incredibly proud of this project, and to win an Applied Arts Magazine Photography award is just the bright green tomato salsa on top of the juicy beef tenderloin! ;)

Many thanks to Applied Arts Magazine and to this year's judges! We can't wait to see our "Farm Series" in print in the May 2017 Issue!

"magic happens when we let our guards down and share the most vulnerable parts of ourselves"

Issha and I have been shooting work for Woodlot for nearly 3 years now.  Our 1st official project together was shooting their 1st candle product shots in the Fall of 2014!

Part of an on-going blog series for 2017, I've been visiting the "Friends of Woodlot" in their homes with one of Woodlot's founders, Sonia, capturing a glimpse into the home lives of inspirational local Vancouverites and how they make Woodlot a part of their daily rituals.  Founder of Feisty Feast, Julia Khan Anselmo, invited us into her warm West End apartment, teeming with light, plant-life and world charm.  Julia speaks of female empowerment, strengthening community, loving ourselves and embracing our differences.

A Wintery Palette

Winter blew into an unprepared, though welcoming, Vancouver with a flurry of soft and slushy snow last week.  After digging out our shovels, mittens, extra layers (and cars), we ventured back out into our beautiful city to enjoy this rare treat.  It inspired us to pull out our frosty whites and chilling blues from our photo libraries and mix them all into our Wintery palette.  We hope you are all enjoying the warm sunshine, brisk air and snow, and that this cold snap has made you feel that much cozier in your festive homes.

Copies of our F/Winter 2017 Issue "Symbiosis" are still available at 7e7's "The Winter Shop" and The Aviary's Holiday Shop! You can also email us directly to buy a copy: hello@pageandpaper.com
